Objectives

Our principle aim is to screen films for Chudleigh residents in a convivial atmosphere, offering a varied programme of films which adds significantly to the social and cultural life of the town.

We offer our members a programme which includes world cinema and films neglected by commercial venues. If space allows, tickets will be for sale on the door at £4 each.

When financially viable, we will offer screenings in addition to the members’ programme. We hope to include films for retirees, popular family entertainment and films specifically for younger audiences.

We are also keen to promote the appreciation of film by means of lectures, discussions and exhibitions.

An important part of the society is our Student Filmmakers Group. We are committed to supporting local young people in making their own films. We will support them in entering competitions, provide a venue and audience for them to show their work, and provide opportunities for them to be involved in the running of the society.
