WELCOME TO THE 2009/10 SEASON
This is a community project set up to offer regular entertainment to the people of Chudleigh and those who live or work in the locality.
Chudleigh is a small town on the A38, 7 miles south of Exeter. In 2008 a Film Society was set up by a small group of local people as a not-for-profit organisation to provide community cinema for Chudleigh and the locality. We now have a solid membership base but we also welcome anyone who wants to come on an ad-hoc basis.
We offer a broad range of films with wide appeal. These include titles chosen from recent features, best of British, World cinema, Hollywood classics etc. In choosing the programme we take note of suggestions from the BFFS, our members, and also the opinions of the audience at each screening which are recorded on feedback slips.
In addition to showing top class professional films, through our links with Chudleigh Primary and Teign Schools, we offer our audiences the chance to see the excellent short films made by the young people of Chudleigh. We also promote the wider appreciation of cinema by providing film notes, through lectures, and regular ‘Film Chat’ evenings on the Tuesday after screenings. These are held in The Old Coaching House in Chudleigh at 7.30pm. All welcome.
Although Chudleigh Film Society is open to all, (no membership required, just £4 on the door), we do however encourage you to join as a member, (8 films for only £25), so that you can contribute to the future success of the society.
