Welcome to Chudleigh Film Society

It was in March of 2008 that a small group of friends decided to start a film society. It had been agreed, after personal research, that regular entertainment in the form of community cinema, within walking distance for most Chudleigh residents, would have wide appeal.

Within a few weeks we were a committee of eight. We have made good friends at neighbouring film societies, who, along with the British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS), the South West Group of the BFFS and Film West South West (FWSW), have been generous with their help and advice.

We have made contact with the leaders and young people at the Youth Centre and received a very positive reaction to our plans.

The Media Studies department at Teign School responded to our plans for a Young Filmmakers Group by offering their professional support and donating vital equipment for the students’ use, and training.
